New dimensionally reduced effective action for QCD at high temperature.

چکیده
New terms are derived for the three-dimensional effective action of the static modes of pure gauge SU(N) at high temperature. In previous works, effective vertices have been obtained by evaluating diagrams involving 2, 3 or 4 external static gluons with one internal nonstatic loop. I take a somewhat different approach by making a covariant derivative expansion of the one loop effective action for the static modes, keeping all terms involving up to six covariant derivatives. The resulting effective action is manifestly invariant under spatially dependent gauge transformations and contains new 5and 6-point effective vertices.

High Temperature 3 D QCD : Dimensional Reduction at Work
We investigate the three-dimensional SU(3) gauge theory at finite temperature in the framework of dimensional reduction. The large scale properties of this theory are expected to be conceptually more complicated than in four dimensions. The dimensionally reduced action is computed in closed analytical form. The resulting effective two-dimensional theory is studied numerically both in the electr...
متن کاملStatic correlation lengths in QCD at high temperature and finite density
A brief review is given of the sign problem in finite density lattice QCD and various attempts to overcome it. To date there is still no solution to this problem which would work for realistic QCD. The main focus then is on the deconfined phase, where QCD can be described by a dimensionally reduced effective action. After summarizing derivation and validity of the effective theory, it is demons...

We investigate numerically and in the one loop approximation a two dimensional SU(3) gauge model of Wilson lines. We propose this model to be a dimensionally reduced model of high temperature QCD 3. In contrast to perturbative dimensional reduction it has an explicit global Z 3 symmetry in the action, and a confinement-deconfinement transition. The phase diagram of the model also shows a new th...

We utilize lattice simulations of the dimensionally reduced effective field theory (EQCD) to determine the quark number susceptibility of QCD at high temperature (T > 2T c). We also use analytic continuation to obtain results at finite density. The results extrapolate well from known perturbative expansion (accurate in extremely high temperatures) to 4d lower temperature lattice data.
